I develop software for medical imaging research, and since 2003 have also gotten involved in web-based development. I found PmWiki while searching for a wiki to use for various information-sharing websites I was working on, and fell in love with three aspects in particular:

1. the fact that I can understand (much of) the code and thus tweak it if needed
2. the plethora of tweaks already in existence
3. the template/skin system

The one recipe I wrote, UserGroupAuth, has happily been superseded by the built-in support of AuthUser.
